“Crystal.”
“I’m a ghost, responsible for Chester’s demise but not your ascendency into his stead.”
“Why keep your involvement a secret?”
“I don’t want to invite an attack on the girls. You’ll feed me the information I need and run a tight ship.”
“Yes, I shall.”
I made to leave, then turned back.
“One final point.”
“Yes, Erin?”
“I don’t mind that you’re bat-shit crazy but there is to be no settling of scores unless I approve each case.”
“Understood.”
Hannah looked impressed, if a little scared. As I descended the stairs, it was obvious to anyone sneaking onto the landing that something awful had happened to Chester because fear and awe was written on every girl's face.
They out came sheepishly at first, some emerging from rooms that were their prison in between being fucked by one punter or another. Some were too young and made available by Chester for too many deviants exploring the disdain of Sin Street.
